Planning "AGORA"

Question 4 - How did you use media technologies in the construction, research, planning and evaluation stages?
Over the course of producing our Media package, we used various software and production technology to create each aspect of work, and source third party medias from the internet.
Web design and presenting ideas.
We presented many of our initial ideas and inspirations, research into the genre and its conventions, using this Weebly website. Weebly allowed us to produce an ever-expanding record of our progress with picture and video reference. We aimed to also incorporate the visual style of the trailer and the rest of our media package into the site.
Sourcing Media for our Trailer.
In our Trailer, we used a combination of footage and sound we ourselves created, as well as pre-made content we sourced from YouTube. We used the website 'convert2mp3' to download these as clips that were manipulatable for use in our Trailer.

Creating our Trailer.
We filmed our Trailer on [camera name]. Many of our high and low angle shots were achieved by attaching the camera to a tripod for stability, whereas some shots were deliberately filmed handheld to give a disorienting feeling.
When it came to editing our Trailer, we used the apple software 'FinalCutPro X' on an iMac, which we quickly learnt to use, from us all having very limited knowledge of how to use it. FinalCutPro is how we were able to heavily edit the appearance and sound of the raw footage we filmed.
Many of our shots were heavily altered from our initial footage, which we were able to do through applying filters and colour correction, as well as editing footage speeds.
The sound design was also done through FinalCutPro, which allows the layering of sound clips and filters to be applied.

Producing our Magazine and Poster.
Both our Magazine cover and Poster were created through Adobe Photoshop, an image editing software. Photoshop allowed us to build layers upon a simple photo base, as well as manipulate colours and formatting of said photos. We found photoshop the best digital tool to create our print media as after research we found it is both industry standard, used by production and marketing companies for poster and magazine design, and offers a more extensive way to edit photos in detail.
Poster
Our poster design is fairly simple, but using photoshop we were able to add bright Red lighting and a more saturated colour palette to our image. We were then able to layer on top our text titles and our handwritten logo/title.

POSTER EXPERIMENTATION\PRACTICE
THIS WAS OUR INTIAL ATTEMPT AT A POSTER DESIGN.
TIMELAPSE OF CREATING INITIAL IDEAS FOR THE POSTER USING PHOTOSHOP.

ORIGINAL PHOTOS FOR POSTER DESIGN
Magazine
Our magazine design features Jamie on a superimposed blurred background. Photoshop allows us to cut Jamie out of a plain green background and layer him on top of a alternate image. We colour corrected both image layers to have a red tint to create cohesion between them. Photoshop again allowed us to then layer text titles and our logo.

WAYS OF USING PHOTOSHOP
Colour Correction
Photoshop allowed to recolour our original photo to incorporate red lighting and a more saturated unnatural colour scheme. We were able to do this using a layer painted red that was above our image layer but was made an overlay layer, so that semi transparent and give the poster a red tint.

Adding Text
Photoshop gives the option to add text as layers to an image. We were able to use this to add the necessary titles to our poster.
